USB Encryption Adapter — TYPEC-JM-T-V1.0

A pocket-sized encrypted network path for mobile office work, built on the GRT-201JM encryption controller.

USB Encryption Adapter — TYPEC-JM-T-V1.0

The TYPEC-JM-T-V1.0 is a smart encryption adapter: a single-port USB Ethernet adapter built around the GRT-201JM, an encryption control chip developed by GRT. It exists for a specific, increasingly common situation — a staff member working away from the office network who still needs a secured communication path. The adapter is plug-and-play, supports OTG use, and turns an ordinary laptop port into the endpoint of an encrypted link.

At the other end of that link, the adapter communicates with GRT PCI-Express security network cards — the F901T-ZN and F901E-ZN series — so an organisation can pair field adapters with office-side security adapters as one system. The encryption is implemented by the dedicated GRT-201JM encryption control chip inside the adapter, not by host software.

Hardware profile

The unit connects over USB 3.0/2.0, follows the IEEE 802.3 Ethernet standard, transfers at up to 800 Mb/s and supports full and half duplex operation in a point-to-point deployment architecture. It draws less than 1 W — comfortably within USB power budgets — and tolerates an unusually wide 0–85 °C operating range for a mobile accessory. The body measures 117.00 × 64.30 × 23 mm with a 420 mm cable. Operating-system support spans Windows XP/Vista/7 and Server 2003/2008, Linux, FreeBSD 8.0 and VMware ESX, reflecting the mixed fleets these adapters are deployed into. Jumbo frames are not supported — a fair trade for a security endpoint of this class.

Procurement notes

Encryption adapters are normally bought as part of a system — field units plus the office-side security cards they pair with. Describe your pairing requirement and quantities in the inquiry and we will quote the set, including the matching F901 series cards. Evaluation units can be arranged under the loaner testing service.

What does the adapter pair with?

It communicates with GRT F901T-ZN / F901E-ZN PCI-Express security network cards, forming the office side of the encrypted link.

Is the encryption in hardware?

Yes. It is implemented by the dedicated GRT-201JM encryption control chip inside the adapter, not by host software.

Can it be used with a phone or tablet?

The adapter supports OTG and plug-and-play use, which is the mechanism mobile devices use for USB peripherals. Confirm your device model with us when inquiring.

Deployment pattern

The TYPEC-JM-T is the mobile half of a point-to-point pair: it communicates with the office-side F901T-ZN / F901E-ZN PCI-Express security cards, so the encrypted link runs between the field host and the office end. Because the unit is bus-powered and draws under a watt, it travels without a charger and works from any USB port the host offers, including through OTG on supported mobile devices. Organisations buying for a fleet normally order the field adapters and the office-side cards together as one system — describe the pairing and the quantities in your inquiry and we will quote the set.
